Griffin Middle School Named All-Star on America's Healthiest Schools List
Congratulations are in order for Griffin Middle School! Griffin was awarded the rank of All-star on America's Healthiest Schools List for the 2021-2022 school year. The healthiest schools in America excel in family engagement, social-emotional learning and seven other key components of positive K-12 climates. Griffin was one of 11 schools out of 400 across the nation recognized for advancing the physical, mental and social-emotional health of students, staff and families. The award is given out annually by the nonprofit Alliance for a Healthier Generation.

Smyrna Scholars Essay Competition
Smyrna Education Foundation is sponsoring its inaugural Smyrna Scholars Essay Competition for Smyrna's middle and high school students.
Students will submit an essay 1000 words or less answering the question,
How will learning to be financially responsible today help you in your future endeavors?
Thanks to the generosity of Smyrna Education Foundation Donors, South State Bank, Board Members, and Advisory Board Members, one winner from each school will receive a cash prize.

To date, Smyrna Education Foundation has granted over $10,000 to Smyrna schools for the 2021-2022 school year.

Board member Alecia McLochlin presents a $500 check to Campbell High School Spartan Band from the Community Champions Grant sponsored by Constellation, an Exelon Company. Smyrna Education Foundation applied for the grant on behalf of CHS.

Big thanks to all of our Campbell IB students who worked in our Smyrna Education Foundation beverage booths at the 2016 Taste of Smyrna! CHS IB students have volunteered for us for the past 4 years.

SEF Co-Sponsors Smyrna Schools Celebrate the Arts
Smyrna Education Foundation, The Smyrna Area Art Teachers, Wave of Excellence – Smyrna City Schools, and the Smyrna Arts & Cultural Council recently hosted the Smyrna Schools Celebrate the Arts event.
Each of the Smyrna area schools had a sampling of student art on display, as well as a collaborative piece of art that was for sale. SEF hosted a silent auction that benefited all Smyrna area schools.
